u can compile 2.5.68. use make menuconfig.

2.5.x has acpi patch already

kconfig need qt, gconfig gtk, u can choose the one u have. but i recommend the menuconfig.

my rule is if i can finish it under console, then i will not use gui. this can make me depend on a certain gui less.

Where can I download the newest module loading tools? Thanks.
And my notebook works really well with the new kernel, ACPI drive the button key, AC adapter,  battery, LCD lid, LED etc. So fantansitic!  but the RH9 can't load the module, always said "not implement. " So no module can work with the new kernel!

我装上了QT，make xconfig好用了，跟2.4内核大不一样，加了好多东西，也多了好多不明白的地方，那位老大给详细地讲一讲。

Documentation/Configure.help. the best place to startup. but 2.5.6x kernel does not have it. so be patient to wait. or you can see help in each kconfig file.
